Privacy Policy

ESGgyan is a product of The Green Concept, which is the data fiduciary responsible for the personal data described below.

1. What we collect and why

• Email address — to sign you in and manage your account.
• Usage counters (AI questions, document analyses, compliance lookups per day) — to enforce plan quotas.
• Saved conversations — the questions you ask ESGgyan and the answers it returns are saved so you can revisit them in your history, continue them later, and optionally share a read-only link. You can delete any conversation, or all of them, at any time.
• Alert topic subscriptions — to deliver the topics you chose in the weekly digest.
• Newsletter email — to send the newsletter you signed up for.
• Payment status (plan, active/cancelled, validity date) — to know what your account is entitled to. Card and UPI details are handled entirely by Razorpay and never touch our servers.
• Server logs (IP address, request metadata) — for security and abuse prevention.

2. AI processing

Questions you ask ESGgyan, and documents you submit for gap analysis, are sent to AI models via OpenRouter. Per OpenRouter’s policy, this data is not used to train models. Even so: do not paste confidential documents you are not permitted to share.

3. Who processes your data

• Neon — database hosting (PostgreSQL), on AWS in the US East (N. Virginia) region.
• Clerk — authentication and sign-in (email, Google, Facebook).
• Vercel — hosting and serving the site.
• Razorpay — payment processing; holds your card/UPI details.
• Brevo — sending digest and newsletter emails.
• OpenRouter — routing AI prompts to model providers; not used for model training per their policy.

4. How long we keep data

• Account data — until you ask us to delete it.
• Usage counters — kept for up to 30 days and then deleted automatically. These can include your IP address when you aren’t signed in.
• Saved conversations — kept while your account is active and deleted automatically six months after you last open or add to a conversation. You can delete any conversation, or all of them, immediately from the chat history panel.
• Newsletter email — until you unsubscribe.

5. Your rights (DPDP Act, 2023)

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to have it erased. Email help@esggyan.com to exercise any of these rights.

6. Cookies and analytics

We set only authentication cookies, used to keep you signed in. There are no advertising trackers. Analytics is aggregate and cookie-less (Vercel Web Analytics) — it cannot identify you individually.
